Prep your yard for the season ahead
Our spring clean up consists of blowing out left over leaves in the landscaping, raking up sticks, Dethatching and bagging/ removal of all debris.
What is Dethatching?
Dethatching is an efficient method of removing excess thatch or the layer of debris, dead grass, and other organic matter that lies in between grass and the soil's surface from your lawn so that nutrients, air, and water can reach the soil.
Spring is a great time to dethatch in our climate. Why? Snowy and harsh winters cause a dead layer of debris to build up at the base of our lawns and often cause snow mold. Snow mold is a cold-season fungus that causes gray-colored circles or patches where there had been snow. It is important to remove this dead layer and snow mold to allow air, water and nutrients to reach your soil.
During fall clean up we will blow out all the landscaping, suck up and remove all the leaves from your lawn.
Why is fall clean up important?
Allowing a layer of leaves to accumulate on your lawn kills your grass, promotes diseases and mold, and provides homes to pests.
Your lawn needs access to sunlight, water, air, and nutrients to grow strong and healthy. A blanket of leaves suffocates your lawn by blocking these essential ingredients it needs to grow. Without proper sunlight, your grass can’t go through photosynthesis and therefore is unable to absorb nutrients it needs to thrive.
Damp, rotting leaves create a thick, wet blanket across your lawn that traps in moisture. This is the perfect environment for diseases, fungi, and mold to grow. Mold is harmful to your lawn and landscape.
